Dr. Cieplak
graduated as a top honors student from the University of
Maryland Dental School class of 1983. He also concurrently
trained at Johns Hopkins and Mercy hospitals for sedation
dentistry. While in Dental school he received the
Anesthesiology Award for outstanding work in dental
anesthesiology; he was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon
Society for conscientiousness and integrity, the Gorgas
Odontological Society for Academic Honors and the Gamma Pi
Delta society for Prosthetics Honors.
Dr. Cieplak continued
training after dental school in the emerging field of
Implant Dentistry by taking every major implant manufacturer
sponsored training program available (academic courses were
unavailable at that time). He continued training under the
masters of implant dentistry culminating his training with a
year at Brookdale Hospital where he achieved Fellow status
in the International Congress of Oral Implantlogy and
Associate Fellow status in the American Academy of Implant
Dentistry.
Dr. Cieplak completed
the entire program at the Pankey Institute for TMJ studies,
has studied under Frank Spear at the Seattle Institute, and
Robert Winter in Newport Beach for advanced cosmetic and
esthetic dentistry. He will be completing his advanced
cosmetic studies with the Las Vegas Institute in September
of 2005. Dr. Cieplak has guest lectured at the University of
Maryland's program for Advanced General Dentistry residents.
He has earned a Fellowship from the Academy of General
Dentistry, is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentistry, the Robert Barclay Study Club, the American
Dental Association and the Virginia and Maryland Dental
Society.
Dr Cieplak was awarded a
Governor’s Citation, a Senatorial Citation and a Citation
from the House of Delegates for charitable acts.
